WordPress 2.0 (final) is now available for download and is just as good as everyone said it would be! The admin interface looks like the WP.com one (which is hardly surprising considering that WP.com uses WP 2 (MU)), which I’ve always loved.

Impressively, all my plugins and themes still work perfectly, apart from Hello Dolly, but that’s just a CSS problem, placing the random line from the song literally on top of the “Howdy, [username], etc” line.

Well done all you devs! You’ve done a good job, as usual.

I’m really looking forward to WordPress V2.0. Going partly by WP.com (for bits of the admin interface at least), partly by other people’s opinions, and partly by looking at the betas/RCs it looks to be one super-slick piece of software!

Does anyone have any idea when it will be released as a final? Guessing soon going by the sudden jump from beta to RC 1 recently… but people who actually know what they’re talking about will probably be somewhat more useful than myself…

What’s happened to bbPress? The development seems to have ground to a halt! Guessing people are all busy doing other things…

My main site, The Cubelog, is currently down. Does anyone have any idea why Apache won’t work on MS Win 2k Pro (latest SP)? I’m probably going to move my hosting soon anyway but hey!

Update: it was just a stupid config error! I hate it when you don’t notice stupid ytpos (sic).

Well, I finally got that golden ticket! Thank you WP.com, I’ll use it well. I’m really lovin’ the admin console! Very slick! The pulsating box when you do something almost scared me at first (in a good way).

I like the rich HTML editor and the customisability of the post page and the photo browser/adder thingy looks like it’ll be very useful if I can ever get my stupid phone’s IR to work (too old for BlueTooth) with my laptop!

And at last you can add a category while posting! So many times I’ve needed to open another tab just to do that one little action (and sometimes I forget to hold ctrl and lose the whole post)!
